Strategies for Excellence in Remote Simultaneous Interpreting

June 10 / 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Master the unique challenges of remote simultaneous interpreting. Learn how to avoid common pitfalls and sharpen your skills for this dynamic field.

Remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) emerged in 2020 and has since become integral to the daily routine of freelance conference interpreters worldwide. While akin to traditional conference interpreting, it demands distinct skills and heightened multitasking abilities beyond those typically required in a booth setting. In this webinar, we’ll explore common mistakes and pitfalls encountered by interpreters across age and experience levels when operating remotely. Come prepared with questions for the Q&A session as we collaborate to enhance our proficiency in this evolving landscape.

You will learn how to:

  1. Identify red flags indicating that the client’s RSI setup might not work.
  2. Choose an RSI setup that will help you mitigate risks.
  3. Avoid the biggest mistakes made by conference interpreters when working on Zoom and similar platforms.
  4. Be a great boothmate during RSI assignments.
